ABOUT WALKER JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Clark, Mr..jpg
Principal's Welcome,

I have served in education for over 20 years. The majority of my classroom experience took place in the junior high setting. Initially I served as Assistant Principal at Walker Freshman before becoming Principal in the 2012-2013 school year. I am a lifelong resident of Walker and consider it a honor to serve this role within our community.

We understand that parents are trusting us with one of the most important things in the World to them, their child. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly. We will work to the best of our abilities to help students grow both academically and socially to find a productive place within our growing community.

We want to make the transition through middle school as smooth as possible for each of our students. Our entire school, faculty and staff, appreciate the "uniqueness" of middle school students and have structured a school environment that is designed to help them successfully transition to Walker High School after 8th grade.

Sincerely,

David Clark
Principal

Built in 1930, the building housed Walker High School until the mid 1970s when a new high school campus was built. The building then housed a Junior High School, a Freshman High School, and finally a Junior High again in 2020. The main building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
